PROCESS PAPER
Why I chose this topic
I chose this topic when I was in history and we were talking about the NHD project and I thought I should do something about African American since it’s close to black history month and about education, so I went home and went on the internet and searched who was the first African American woman to graduate from college and I found out about Lucy Ann Stanton the first African American woman to graduate from college with a 4-year degree.
How I conducted my research
The way I conducted my research was that I went on the internet and looked up articles, websites, and books about Lucy Stanton. After I found so books about her online I went on the public library website and searched if they had the book and they had one book left so I put it on hold and went to pick it up later. Once I got the book I read the part that talked about her and put it in my own words. I also got some information from the websites I used that wasn’t in the book and put that in my own words too.
How I chose my presentation category and created my project
I chose my presentation to be a website because I felt they gave me more option than the other category’s and I felt as if it would be easier and better to do than anything else. The way I created my website was that I went to webbly.com and signed up so I could make a website. Once I logged in I picked the template for my website and went from there with typing the information in. Once I was done putting the information in I looked back over it for any errors I may have mad and fixed them. When I was done with the website I made the bibliography. After that I started the process paper.
How my project relates to the NHD theme
My project topic relates to the theme in many ways because Lucy Stanton made a legacy that was that she was the first African American woman to graduate from college with a 4-year degree she was also the first African American woman to write and publish a short fiction story. Also she was a leader because by graduating from college with a 4-year degree she inspired other women to follow in her foot steps and get an education. That’s why my topic relates to the theme.
